Underground Service Alert of Northern California and Nevada, commonly known as USA North 811, is the organization to "call 811 before you dig" to arrange to have underground utility lines located and marked before digging. This FREE service is funded by the utility operators. Create a locate request "ticket" by calling 811 or online at www.usanorth811.org to provide information about your digging project and the utility operators that have underground facilities in the area of your dig site will each send a field technician to locate and mark their facilities in the area so you know where to be careful when digging.
