This is Oggie, from Maine. I'm in the area for about ten days to to escape the Maine winter and to explore the different hiking/parks around Las Vegas, where I am now. Based on the government website it seems like the Ash Meadows visitor center is closed from November to March, but maybe that's not true. Is it? At any rate, can I go into the Refuge and walk around and explore this time of year? Thanks for any information you might offer.

All I can tell you is that we were there late November last year & it was open. We drove in from the southern entrance off of Ash Meadow Road out of Pahrump, stopped and walked the boardwalk, then continued on stopping at the Visitor's Center & out the west entrance towards Death Valley NP. There were no gated entrances prohibiting our drive.
Hi, can we have lunch near Ash Meadows Refuge? Thanks.

We will visit the refuge tomorrow. We can pack some sandwiches and drinks but is there any place where we can have our lunch? I mean, tables, seats... Thanks
We will be traveling to Arizona in March 2018. We will have our Yellow Lab with us and wish to stop at Ash Meadows. But only if she can walk around with us. (yes, ON leash). Thanks, Sueann & Robert
