We are traveling to this area over spring break with our 9 and 5 year old girls. Understanding young children don’t have the attention span for museums in general, should we even consider this one? My 3rd grader has started learning about American history so I think it would be awesome for her. But the 5 year old?? Any input is appreciated!

A visit will depend on what a visitor does. My visit was in the neighborhood of about three hours, this included detailed photographing all exhibits-good lighting for photography-reading much exhibit information-each exhibit has much information-12-14 minute video at the beginning-the Cherokee's view on how the tribe was created-ending with through a very supplied gift shop. My suggestion is to arrive early before the main crowd arrives, as there won't be so many other visitors in your way. Enjoy what you view & read.
Do you need to buy your tickets ahead of time? Do the tickets have a specific time on them?
A:
We walked in and bought our tickets at the ticket counter at the time we toured the museum. We didn’t get a paper ticket. I don’t think tickets would be time stamped.
