Open daily 9a to 5p; Last entry 4p. Closed Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. The 50-acre Gulf Breeze Zoo features more than 1,000 animals from around the world. Get up close to the Zoo’s tallest giraffe residents – and even feel their tongues - as they take romaine leaves from your palm while feeding them. Go behind-the-scenes on exciting animal encounters where you can offer a tasty treat to an Indian Rhino, meet a pair of Nile hippos, feed sloths while learning about these gentle creatures, and more. Take a nostalgic 15-minute narrated train ride through the 30-acre preserve and see rhinos, deer, antelope and emus roam free and enjoy close-up views of our gorilla and orangutan families. Trains run hourly throughout the day.

I have no idea. I also have no idea on humane requirements, but All the animals and conditions looked good when we were there. I’ve seen “animal parks” and zoos elsewhere that were definitely, what I would think, are in humane, and this seemed great in comparison.
