We visited Hawksbill bay specifically to experience the clothing optional Eden beach. We took the 20 minute taxi ride from the cruise port in St. Johns at a cost of $30. Be aware that taxi drivers a… Full review by astonvillan
HI! I am interested in going to the Resort in March 2025. Do you know if it's still under renovations?? Also, the nude beach is right there, or we need to taxi over to it. I usually go to Orient Beach in St. Martin, want to try something different. Thank you!

I presume the beaches are still free access to all, but if I make a day visit to Hawksbill, would I be able to buy some refreshments/snacks? I would like to re-visit what used to be our regular holiday place many years ago and I haven't been back since my husband died in 1993. I often come for a day in Antigua from my cruises and could get a taxi there when I next visit Antigua St.Johns in March next year.

We came from the Carnival Pride, were dropped by taxi and hung out on the beach for awhile. Tree shade. Another family did the same from another ship. Pretty remote. Wave runners being rented at the other end of the beach. Swam out pretty far to see reef and fish. Brought my own snorkel gear. Gorgeous, empty beach. Other family had small children—after 10 ft or so, had to watch the sudden deeper water—nothing extremely deep, just not able to go out 100 yds and still be in a few inches of water. Walked over to the resort for lunch. A nice pair of ladies from the U.K. suggested we skip lunch there, but to try the rum punch. Had a sprinkle of cinnamon on top. Peach colored. I usually don’t like rum punch, but this wasn’t so sugary. Actually really good. Was told the beach right in front of the open air dining had a real steep beach and rip tide. Recommended they try the end of the beach that we came from. Waves not too much at all. Old sugar mill gift shop we stopped at on our way out, but it was closed. Next time...
Hi, Went several times to beautiful Hawksbill from 1983 up to 1992 and had lovely holidays there. Sadly my husband died in 1992 and I haven't been back since, despite calling into Antigua on many cruises over the years. I will be in port there again in March and may take a taxi to spend a day there on my own but, after reading so many bad reviews, I am wondering if a re-visit would spoil my memories of past holidays. We always booked what in those years, was the last bungalow before the walk to Beach 4. From pictures since then I know more bungalows have been built past ours and the area has changed, firstly due to hurricane damage some time after the year 2000, and of course more recently. Are there still sunbeds on beach 4 or have they also disappeared? We had lovely steel bands playing for dancing each night years ago and the buffet food was only an occasional option as the dinner menu was a choice most nights. I still remember the manager's rum punch night - the best drink ever! The hotel had a gift shop in the white tower building below the dining area. Is it still there? Another question is the sand colour described as "grey" as it was always lovely pink/white fine sand years ago and I wonder if the seas have reclaimed it now? Hope you can help answer my questions.

Hello... My apologies for not writing sooner re: your question about Hawksbill. There are still lots of beach chairs on the nude beach but shade, due to the lack of decent palapas is tough to find. The gift shop is still in the mill silo and the sand is as you remember it ( not sure who would describe it as grey ). As mentioned in my review, the resort is tired looking and probably hasn't changed much since 2000.... but the beaches are all gorgeous.
My wife and I are staying at the resort in March 11/22, she is looking forward to the nude beach, is it with it?? Do we need to bring our own drinks??

The beach is very nice. It is clean, there are some lounge chairs available for free. I can't imagine a nicer place to sit and watch the boats go by. In January there were only a handful of people there. The resort or beach did not seem to be any worse for the hurricane. I did not see anyone from the resort delivering drinks or food to the beach. We brought our own. Sorry, I don't know what "with it" means. Hope this helps.
