I manage to use a wheelchair with my mother in it to access most areas, but exiting is a problem. There are three routes out, a central row of steps (clearly not wheelchair friendly), a rougher path to the West back through the Chalk pit but then a sustained slope which would be a challenge, or a shorter slope that joins with the East entrance to the rose garden ... my mother can just make it up that last slope by walking but her lower vertebral pain is increasing so the distances she can walk are decreasing : all of those routes would need considerable strength to push an occupied wheelchair up the slopes. On balance I would say it is not suitable for wheelchair access unless the occupant has a great deal of upper body strength or the wheelchair pusher is extremely robust.
Is there a restaurant at the gardens and what is the food?

There is aTea room and a pub restaurant & Hotel. Food is good, price is a bit over priced. On a sunny day you can sit outside I need a bird singing very nice.
