Apart from the loooong lines to board the ferry to Tjøtta, this is really something to do. Very nice stretch of the Norwegian coast.Full review by Kimmen1
Hi we want to drive the coastal road at the beginning of August 2020 for 6-7 days, from Trondheim to Bodo. Do we need to pre-book accommodation? We would prefer to drive and book along the way if possible.

Traffic tends to slow down a bit after the first week of August, so you don't need to pre-book. On the other hand if you want to experience some of the islands and stay at the most interesting places pre-booking is reccommended even in August. To pre-book a day ahead could be the way to do it.
