Need some advice. Thank you in advance.how do we actually get to lake towada and the Oirase gorge from Aomori station? I’ve read that JR bus doesn’t stop at the lake itself. Than how do we go to lake?also will a day trip from Aomori be too rush?

There is a JR bus from Aomori station to both Oirase Gorge n Lake Towada. However there are limited timings each day so it will be a very rushed trip to see both within a day. I suggest that you stay at least a night to enjoy the hike at Oirase Gorge. This place is so lovely and it deserves to be enjoyed leisurely.
I am planning to get to Lake Towada this winter (January 2018) but read about JR Tohoku bus service from Aomori to Lake Towada is suspended during winter. May I know what other alternatives do I have to get to Lake Towada during early January 2018? Also it is recommended that I stay overnight here or is a day trip enough? The travel time seems to be long from Aomori station and I am wondering whether maybe it would be better to stay overnight.

Just to answer this question myself since I've made the trip, there is no public transportation to Lake Towada during winter. The only time there is public transportation to Lake Towada during winter is only during the Lake Towada Winter Tale Festival event and there is very limited access. Bus will only bring you up to sukayu onsen. Alternatively the hotel/resorts there will have a bus to their hotel but you need to be a guests staying there and requires reservation.

Hi..i manage to get towadaso hotel and it provide shuttle bus from hachinohe station to the hotel.and i hope that hotel is near the winter festival.am i right
