Mukdahan is one of Thailand's seventy-six provinces and lies in upper northeastern Thailand, also called Isan. Neighboring provinces are Amnat Charoen, Yasothon, Roi Et, Kalasin, Sakon Nakhon, and Nakhon Phanom.
