Our main museum site is closed for redevelopment until Spring 2020 but there is a temporary exhibition in the Hoy Hotel, Lyness, a short walk or drive from the ferry terminal. This tells the story of Scapa Flow in two world wars and has lots of digital information on the wartime history of Hoy plus general visitor information, so is well worth a visit.

I think that they may do sandwiches but it is a very small cafe with only about four or five tables and not much choice. There is nowhere else to eat very close by. Hope this helps but it is well worth visiting. Enjoy your trip! Muriel
