Visited this today. It is certainly worth taking a tour if you’re in Edinburgh. The guides were friendly and very knowledgeable. It’s quite a climb to the top but the views from the top are excellent.Full review by stbUk

I’ve tried to visit this monument 3 times, whenever I’m in Edinburgh. Different months, different times of day, there’s never anyone there.Full review by Ruth B

Thanks for answering! It was a sort of statue that resembles his art of a girl with outstretched arm for heart balloon. Instead of a balloon, it was a ball and chain.

hi entrance is £5 see info below. There are 287 steps to the top of the Scott Monument, from where you can enjoy breathtaking views of Edinburgh and the surrounding countryside. Find out about Sir Walter Scott and the monument in the museum room. During adverse weather conditions (high winds especially) please check our Twitter feed @EdinCulture before travelling as the monument may be closed at short notice for safety reasons.
