The longer trail at this monument is worth the stairs and short but moderate hike if you are able. Binoculars are a bonus so you can see other dwellings that are around the canyon as well. There were…Full review by karac47

The paved path around the Island Trail is not very long, but the climb up and down the stairs can be quite a workout. If you want to soak in the sights and sounds, I would allow 1 to 1.5 hours. The volunteer told me that the climb up is the equivalent of climbing a 20 story building. That's a great time to pause and take photos of the view. As for the rest of the park, The interpretive exhibits and film could be another 30 - 45 minutes and the rim trail could be 30 - 45 minutes. Nice to enjoy a picnic near the rim trail as well. Hope this helps!

I would plan at least an hour and a half. It depends if you are a walker/hiker as there are about 300 steps up once you have walked the loop. It was not crowded in April and not as hot. If summer, you may want 2 hours. Bring water! Enjoy cool place.
