Definitely wear shoes that you can walk up a hill covered in sharp rocks and pants not shorts. It takes some skill to figure out how to find the rocks with nice layers, and then tap them hard enough …Full review by Patti M

I’m going to say maybe for the 5yo, but no for the 3yo. It’s kind of hard to break open the rocks carefully, and 90% of them wont have anything. The other 10% will have a leaf or flower in them. I think kids that young would get bored quickly, unless the parents really go out of their way to keep them entertained. However, your kids could REALLY be into rocks, like my Husband. He came home after 8 hours filthy, exhausted and absolutely giddy that he found a fly.
