Carvin is a commune in the Pas-de-Calais department in the Hauts-de-France region of France about 14 miles northeast of Lens. During World War I, from October 1914 to October 1918, Carvin was occupied by the Germans. Over 6,000 soldiers are buried in one of the largest German cemeteries in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region.
