FYI, you should sue Lahaina stables. I know you signed a waiver, but there are laws that state the owner must provide adequate safety and first aid. ALso there are laws that state tack and horses have to be up to par, of which Ray FIgua is known to have broken tack and broken horses. Also sick and injured horses are used to work the rides. Take my advice and contact an attorney. Thank you for sharing your experience and I hope your wife recooperated well. Falling off really hurts.

I have worked with horses on farms and at racetracks. There is absolutely nothing “broken” or even sub par when it comes to the care and condition of these horses. Anyone from a novice to an experienced rider can fall from a horse. It comes with the territory. Some activities are just inherently dangerous. The fact is that things happen and it has been my experience that bad things can happen at any animal human interaction. Dogs bite ducks quack and people talk.

Um last I worked there I was at the stables before sunrise feeding all of the horses... the second group would have lunch before there ride out and the evening guide would feed them again... that pic above breaks my heart because I rode him anytime I went out. This place needs extra help I’m sure but I doubt the owners let them go “days without eating” come on guy
