This is a good place to visit when you stop at the Oconaluftee visitor center though I would encourage visiting in the morning if possible before it gets too hot. The site includes the house, a barn…Full review by journalmytrips

Historical farm village with a nice river trail nearby. Elk are often seen in the area, as well. Adjacent to one of the GSMNP visitor centers.Full review by susansY2093PQ

The museum is at the Oconaluftee Visitors Center at the southern entrance to the Smoky Mountain National Park on Hwy 441, just a couple miles north of Cherokee, NC and about a half mile from the entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Make sure you also take in the Native American culture and history that Cherokee proudly shares with it's visitors. It's a nice change of pace from the "commercial" feel of Gatlinburg and the drive through the National Forest is to not be missed. Hey, take a drive on the Parkway too! Beautiful. Enjoy!
