Hi Rosemary, every beach in Antigua is a public beach. Most hotels do a day visitor which you pay for and it entitles you to food and drinks for your visit as well as use of the facilities. I would not recommend going to the Halcyon Cove hotel though. Hope this helps

You can walk into the water from the sand very gradually and it's shallow and not deep to paddle or swim in. The water is also very clear but completely sandy so you just see to the bottom.
