Air Canada was forced to apologize after it was discovered that some of its planes did not show Israel on their in-flight entertainment systems’ maps.

Forty Boeing 737 MAX planes were found to have moving maps that had erased Israel, labeling the state as “Palestinian Territories.”

Air Canada has apologized for an in-flight display map that showed a Middle East without Israel. The airline deactivated the map display in its Boeing 737 fleet this week after a passenger complained that the map labeled the area as "Palestinian Territories,

Air Canada is working to correct an in-flight map which replaced the State of Israel with “Palestinian territories.” The error was first noticed by a passenger on a recent flight from Vancouver to Montreal.

Air Canada has disabled the map functionality on its 737 MAX twinjets after passengers observed that Israel had been removed.
