What began about 8:30 p.m. Monday as a robbery investigation in the 3200 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard turned into a standoff with officers and a Sacramento police tactical team that stretched into the early hours of Tuesday.

Sacramento officers have set up a perimeter in an area of Oak Park while they try to arrest an armed robbery suspect, the police department said.

Police are working a robbery investigation in Oak Park Monday night. According to Sacramento Police Department, an armed robbery was reported along the 3200 block of Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard.
