Tampa Bay coach Todd Bowles said Tuesday that the Buccaneers — who also lost 10-time 1,000-yard receiver Mike Evans to a hamstring injury during Monday night's 41-31 loss to visiting Baltimore — are holding out hope that Chris Godwin might be able to return if they can play deep into January.

Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin will undergo surgery on his left ankle injury and will "probably be out for the year," while Mike Evans likely will be out until after the team's Week 11 bye due to his hamstring injury.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were down 41-31 late on Monday night in Week 7 to the Baltimore Ravens, with the game probably out of hand barring a miracle, but they kept the starters out. Then, Chris Godwin got injured in what’s initially being called a dislocated ankle that will leave the Bucs star out indefinitely.
