First Alert Weather Day in place for Sunday for strong storm threat.

The National Weather service says that there is medium confidence in minor local flooding, but those areas in low levels and near creeks and streams need to be ready for some localized flooding early on Sunday.

We have a low-end threat for isolated severe storms late this afternoon and evening (2 p.m. CST - 8 p.m. CST) in west Alabama.

A FIRST ALERT as a few stronger storms will be possible during the afternoon and night Saturday, with the primary threats being damaging wind gusts and large hail. The tornado chance is low but not zero.

The First Alert Weather Team has declared Saturday a First Alert Weather Day due to expected rain and storms, some of which could be strong to severe.A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in place for the Metroplex and counties to the southeast until noon.

Severe storms are expected anywhere between 11am-11pm with the bulk of the system moving through between 2pm-7pm.

However, that also means there will be fog, which could be locally dense at times, to contend with. A First Alert that this could impact travel Saturday night into Sunday morning, along with slick spots on the roads that are untreated.
