An East Bay community is still feeling the effects from a weekend fire at the Martinez Refining Company that emitted huge plumes of smoke and injured six refinery employees​.

Residents north of the Martinez Refining Co. were advised to shelter in place Saturday due to smoke from a fire that broke out during flaring. The public health advisory, issued at 4:49 p.m., applied to all of Martinez, parts of Pacheco and Clyde, Contra Costa County Health Services said on the sheriff's office's Community Warning System website.
