Mumbai will station over 14,000 police personnel for New Year's Eve at popular spots like Gateway of India and Juhu Beach to ensure safety. Measures include SRPF platoons, QRTs, BDDS, and nakabandi at critical points.

Nakabandi' (police checkposts) will be in place on important roads, he said, adding that there will be a special drive against drunk driving in the city.

Mumbai: The Mumbai Police has implemented stringent measures to ensure safety and law enforcement for this year’s New Year’s Eve celebrations on December 31. Over 14,000 police officers and personnel will be deployed across the city to maintain order and crack down on violators,

The Mumbai Police will have checkpoints at various places and patrolling and fixing-point arrangements will also be made at crowded places, important installations, and tourist spots.
