The PGA Tour rejected that particular proposal in a letter sent March 31. It stands firmly in opposition to the PGA Tour’s publicly stated goal to reunite the best players in the world: “We’re doing everything that we can to bring the two sides together,” PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan said last month.

It was announced in June 2023 that the PGA Tour, DP World Tour and LIV Golf reached an agreement to form a unified golf entity, but details of the deal had not been finalized at that time. Even though the parties set an initial deadline of Dec. 31, 2023 to finalize an agreement, they announced on that date an extension to work things out.
