The primary email address is the one which is shown to other people when users share documents or other invitations to other users.

For years, we've been stuck with the email address we used when making our Apple Accounts. Going forward, however, Apple will let you easily change this primary email.

The upcoming iOS 18.1 update allows users to change the primary email address associated with their Apple Account more easily. In the current version of iOS, changing the Apple Account primary email is quite a hassle.

While many look forward to iOS 18.1 for the first Apple Intelligence features, this next update will deliver some other useful changes.

The new iOS 18.1 feature lets you change your email address but continue using the old one for login. The update also comes with an option to change an iCloud.com or me.com email address. If you're not happy with your current address, you can now replace it with a different one, giving you more flexibility and personalization options.
