Android phone users can now share files through Quick Share with the help of a QR code, which will make receiving files by the recipients hassle-free and also make it more secure. This feature happened to be rolling out widely (via 9to5Google) when it was announced last month and was initially spotted back in May last year.

Google is quietly rolling out a new way to share files with Quick Share. Users can now use QR codes to start a file transfer.

Google is rolling out the QR code-based file sharing method in Quick Share with the latest Google Play Services update.

In the Quick Share window, select the "Who Can Share With You" option and enable the "Visible to Nearby Devices" toggle. Then, choose the "Everyone" option. You can check or uncheck the "Only for 10 Minutes" box depending on how long it will take to transfer files between devices.

The company has finally started rolling out the QR-code-based sharing feature to all supported Android devices – both smartphones and tablets. If you are unaware, the feature has already been there in Samsung phones even before Quick Share became the default file-sharing tool for Android.

Users can now generate a Quick Share QR code to initiate file transfers. The new feature eliminates the need to adjust visibility settings or add contacts, which was one of the main hassles with this feature.
