Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani withdrew a request to appear virtually for an upcoming trial in New York after a judge ruled that he would also not be able travel to President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration.

Giuliani has refused to turn over assets to former Georgia election workers Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, who won a nearly $150 million defamation lawsuit against him.

Manhattan federal judge Lewis Liman said he will rule on “appropriate sanctions” against Giuliani at a later time.

U.S. District Judge Lewis Liman made the contempt finding after Giuliani testified over two days to answer questions about why he’d failed to hand over assets and court-ordered discovery information to help satisfy Ruby Freeman and Wandrea “Shaye” Moss’ $146 million defamation judgment against him.
