TAMPA, Fla. — Tennis elbow in both arms isn’t the only injury Giancarlo Stanton is currently dealing with at Yankees camp. Yankees manager Aaron Boone confirmed before Friday night’s game against the Phillies that Stanton has an issue with his calf.

The defending AL champion New York Yankees walked into camp with what was supposed to be one of the strongest teams in baseball. That perspective took an immediate hit when former MVP slugger Giancarlo Stanton revealed he had tennis elbow in both elbows.

Aaron Boone said the designated hitter is also dealing with a “minor” calf issue on Friday night, per MLB.com’s Bryan Hoch. Boone added that Stanton, already set to start the season on the injured list thanks to his elbows, still doesn’t have a timetable for resuming baseball activities.
