According to Twitter user Anadius, The Sims 1 and The Sims 2 will be re-released on PC for Windows 10 and 11 on Friday 31st January at 10am CST. The Sims and The Sims 2 re-release for Windows 10/11 on January 31st at 16:00 UTC. 25th Birthday Bundle releases at the same time (contents not listed).

Fans of The Simshave their hopes up that the original two games will finally be remastered for modern platforms after Electronic Arts cryptically teased them in a new 25th anniversary promo video. Kotaku understands that The Sims 1 and The Sims 2 will both be re-released on PC before the end of the month.

EA is set to re-release The Sims and The Sims 2 this week as part of its 25th anniversary celebrations, it’s claimed. Citing a “source familiar with the plans”, Kotaku says the publisher will be bringing back the first two games in The Sims series by the end of January.

The first two Sims games are still exceedingly well-regarded these days, but sadly, actually gaining access to them in a legitimate way isn't particularly easy. The first was a disc-only jobby, and the second has long-since been removed from digital platforms.
