Residents are coping with a public health advisory in Washington Township as workers continue repairs to a sewer line that ruptured, causing some sewage to leak into the surrounding area.

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) — A public health advisory was issued in Washington Township on Wednesday due to a rupture in the sewer system. Thousands of gallons of raw sewage may have went into the Clinton River, however, officials in Washington Township say the leak is under control.

The Macomb County Health Department issued a public health advisory after raw sewerage leaked in Washington Township and into the Clinton River.
