Water sparingly when the top inch of the soil is dry. If you're growing the bulb on stones or in an amaryllis vase, keep the water level no higher than one inch below the base of the bulb.
If they get a little top-heavy, placing the bulb in a low glass vase can help keep the flowers upright. Similar to unwaxed amaryllis, waxed bulbs take about four to six weeks to begin blooming.
