Everyone aboard an Amtrak train passing through Auburn is thankful to be safe after the locomotive crashed into a stuck semi-truck.

AUBURN, Wash. — According to Auburn Police, at around 10:18 a.m. on Saturday, an Amtrak train struck a semi that had made a wrong turn. The truck made a turn and got stuck on the tracks on 29th Street Northwest. The Amtrak train was heading south when it struck the semi.

In a social media post, the Auburn Police Department reported that around 10:18 a.m., a semi tractor trailer rig made a wrong turn and became stuck on the train tracks at 29th and B streets Northwest. A southbound Amtrak train struck the stuck semi. Police said that the driver and occupant of the semi managed to get out of the truck safely.

DOVER, Fla. — A 53-year-old man died after being hit by an Amtrak train on Saturday, officials say. The crash happened around 3:52 p.m. near Sydney Dover Road and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Dover, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said in a release. The man killed has been identified as Andres Pop-Tupil.
