The giant pair of crossed swords erected by Saddam Hussein in the heart of Baghdad. The vulgar monument is being refurbished ahead of next month's Arab League summit.

The impetus for preserving the monument itself, popularly known as the Crossed Swords, was the destruction of another monument built by Saddam after Iraq’s defeat in the Persian Gulf War in 1991.
