Big League Chew contends that Ford Gum, a licensee, lied to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in a trademark application by describing itself as the company responsible for the famous gum.

It's been about 45 years since former New York Yankees pitcher Jim Bouton teamed up with independent league pitcher Rob Nelson to create Big League Chew as a healthy alternative to chewing tobacco.
