NEW YORK, Oct. 12 (UPI) --Chronic stress speeds colorectal cancer's spread dramatically by disrupting gut microbiota -- the delicate balance of good and bad bacteria, a new study in mice indicates.
“If these findings are confirmed, this means that looking at the gut microbiota could improve on current noninvasive fecal tests used to detect and prevent colorectal polyps and cancer,” he says.
