Two officers with the Independence Police Department have been arrested following their alleged connection to a recent homicide.

Two Independence police officers have been arrested and accused of tampering with evidence from the scene where a homicide victim was found.

INDEPENDENCE, La. (WVUE) - Two Independence police officers have been arrested in connection with the murder of a 30-year-old man, according to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office. Mitchell Rainey, 33, and Caitlyn Rainey, 27, were taken into custody and booked for malfeasance in office and obstruction of justice.
