On March 27, the talk show host appeared as a guest on the “Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce” podcast. During the sit-down, Clarkson reflected on her career, from her start as the first-ever winner of “American Idol” in 2002 until now.

During a recent interview on Kylie Kelce's "Not Gonna Lie" podcast, Kelly Clarkson shared she did not know "American Idol" was a TV show at first.

After becoming American Idol ’s inaugural winner, Clarkson signed to RCA Records. She and her fellow finalists from the show embarked on a tour together in fall 2002. Clarkson went on to release her first single “Miss Independent” which was an international hit. The power anthem was certified gold and earned Clarkson her first Grammy nomination.
