After 17 News made multiple phone calls to the Kern County District 2 Supervisor Chris Parlier on Friday, Flood Ministries, was sent to the park to get a headcount of folks who needed assistance.

A bill from Sen. Melissa Hurtado, D-Sanger, would provide $22 million for flood plain restoration projects in Kern County and another $21 million for projects in Kings and Tulare counties.
