DENVER — The Clippers dropped a 112-110 overtime game to the Denver Nuggets Saturday night at Ball Arena to open the playoffs. They are down 1-0 in the best-of-seven series because Russell Westbrook was as a menace against his former team and supplied the Nuggets with the energy and big plays they needed to get the win.

The Nuggets emerged with a 112-110 Game 1 overtime win over the Clippers after Nikola Jokic iced it with a pair of free throws with 6.5 seconds left. Russell Westbrook had made the decisive defensive play, knocking Nicolas Batum’s inbound pass out of bounds off a Clippers teammate to force a turnover in a three-point game.

On Saturday afternoon, the LA Clippers are playing the Denver Nuggets (in Colorado) for Game 1 of their series. Kawhi Leonard had 20 points, three rebounds, one assist and two steals while shooting 8/13 from the field and 1/2 from the three-point range in his first 29 minutes of playing time.
