Tired eyes look heavier than rested ones ... I often stick to one or two at the outer corners, which yields a decent lift with less faffing about. Otherwise a good mascara helps.

Eye makeup isn't one-size-fits-all, especially considering the different eye shapes out there. For example, how you do a cat eye on almond-shaped eyes will differ from how you do it on hooded eyes.
