MLB's new gold patch program honors 2024 award winners
Beginning this season, the league is bestowing a gold MLB patch on the jerseys of the reigning MVP, Cy Young and Rookie of the Year winners. That means Shohei Ohtani (MVP), Aaron Judge (MVP), Chris Sale (Cy Young), Tarik Skubal (Cy Young), Luis Gil (Rookie) and Paul Skenes (Rookie) will each sport the special logo all summer.
