Bosgraaf used barn wood to build a farm table, a wood-storing bench, two interior benches for stereo equipment and a white oak sliding door that separates the kitchen and the utility area.

In earlier structures, the mortise was cut into the wood with a mortise axe. It didn’t make as neat and tight-fitting a joint as later styles did and was more the style of a frontier barn.
