The vultures found in Landa Park are the latest bird flu cases in Texas, following numerous dead ducks found in North Austin.

(New Braunfels) — A highly contagious bird flu has been discovered in neighboring New Braunfels. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department says that preliminary tests have confirmed Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in multiple black vultures found dead in Landa Park.

Bird flu has been detected in New Braunfels, according to Texas Parks & Wildlife. This marks the second detection of bird flu in Central Texas this year.

Bird flu is spreading among Central Texas wild birds as migration brings more and more birds here for the winter.
