At least nine tornadoes have been confirmed in Texas following the severe storms that swept through the state Sunday.

A severe thunderstorm watch remains in force Wednesday morning across parts of north central Texas, with alerts issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) and the Storm Prediction Center (SPC).

Forecasters expect multiple records to be broken over the next week as an early heat wave settles over the region.
