Greenfield's police chief pulled together a new plan to avoid the elimination of the entire midnight shift, but gaps in service and the politics of it all still concern some residents.

“Your midnight shift is going away,” the Greenfield police chief said. “This is not a threat." But city councilors are worried it is "retaliatory" after recent budget cuts.
