If you're looking for a change of pace, Port Isabel – a small town perched opposite South Padre Island on Laguna Madre – is home to several small museums, shops and seafood restaurants.

After more than four decades, Parrot Eyes Bar and Grill on South Padre Island, Texas, has closed. Owners Ron and Virginia Guillot announced the closure on the restaurant’s Facebook page last week.

Hot pot, features a simmering pot of broth, and diners cook ingredients such as meat, vegetables, and tofu. Korean BBQ offers a similar interactive experience with tabletop grilling.

Island Italian restaurant, owned by the Tagliaferro family, has been operated in the same building for 37 years. They have to change locations when the property lease is up Dec 31, 2024.
