Loved ones have joined the first responder community in mourning the death of a San Bernardino County Fire Department firefighter paramedic.

The crash was reported at around 12:15 p.m. at Railroad Canyon Road and Church Street, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Office.

“Dear Lord, we came here today sorrowing over the loss of our fellow officer, our mentor, our friend, Hector Cuevas,” Chaplain Rick Stonestreet said as the service began. “Thank you for an example of a life well-lived. Also for a family that has lost a son, a brother, a father, a husband, and most of all, a Christian.”
