Bylsma and Campbell coached the Kraken’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Coachella Valley Firebirds, to back-to-back Calder Cup finals appearances before the coaches were promoted. Bylsma replaced Dave Hakstol, a coach of the year finalist in Seattle in 2023.

The Seattle Kraken announced Monday that head coach Dan Bylsma has been relieved of his duties after just one season behind the bench. The move ends Bylsma’s brief tenure in Seattle despite having two years remaining on his contract, as noted by TSN’s Pierre LeBrun.

UPDATE 2: It's official, the Seattle Kraken have promoted GM Ron Francis to President and have replaced him with assistant GM Jason Botterill as the team's new general manager.
