A recent poll from the University of Houston's Hobby School of Public Affairs found that 62 percent of Texan adults support the legalization of recreational marijuana, while 79 percent think medical marijuana with a prescription should be permitted.

Dispensaries across the state have sold more than $250 million worth of adult-use cannabis since legalization began in August.

Texas saw the growth of the industrial hemp industry, which produced a large amount of products containing THC. Many Texans are unsure of how to regulate these products.
