The bald eagle had a fractured wing and a large open wound. Austin Wildlife Rescue says the bird has a good prognosis and is on the road to recovery.

Austin Wildlife Rescue (AWR) took the bald eagle under its wing on Dec. 15 after Texas Parks and Wildlife delivered the bird to its facility. When it arrived, the rescue said it had a fractured wing and a large open wound.

Austin Wildlife Rescue rehabilitated an injured bald eagle earlier this month. The eagle was found in a field near Smithville on December 15th and taken to Austin Wildlife Rescue’s rehabilitation facility by a Texas Parks and Wildlife game warden.
